PRA community projects

Over the years we have completed many great community projects in Plimmerton …
making this an even better place to live

We started around 2008 with the walkway around Beach Road creating an attractive three-metre wide promenade enabling people for the first time to walk safely around the whole waterfront from the rail crossing round past the boating club.

Café corner was widened and paved which allowed outdoor seating and created a central meeting place in the village.

And so it has continued … with heritage and environmental projects and the development of playgrounds and recreation areas. All these projects have been managed and organised by residents volunteering their skills and time.

All of the projects shown here, have been funded by resident donations and sponsorship, Porirua City Council’s village programme and supplemented with grants from community funders and other organisations.
