KiwiRail’s three year PACE project … community information

KiwiRail worked intensively here for three years on their PACE project to install a third track and platform … including platform shelters and all related access structures plus traffic and rail crossing structures and related infrastructure.

PRA’s role was to keep the community informed through public meetings, letter drops to impacted residents (during intensive periods work went on for 24 hours), info on social media and regular info in our newsletters. PRA met regularly with the project team and their specialist staff. We were engaged in many aspects of the project including the design of the third platform shelters to ensure they matched our heritage restored railway station.
