Street groups for emergency preparedness
Street groups can save lives and property. In the major Cluny Road flood/slip event residents were able to have vulnerable neighbours safety checked rapidly. And they know who to turn to for equipment which enable safe evacuation and to protect property. Having street groups working well helps the professionals to so their jobs efficiently.
Groups of neighbours share details so they can check on the safety and wellbeing of those who live around them. These details are kept confidential to the group only shared with professionals dealing with emergency situations so they can quickly identify and assist the most vulnerable.
PRA actively encourages all residents to be part of their own street group and to work with friends and neighbours to co ordinate activities in their area.
