Karehana Park … ‘nek minute’

From the accessible pathway development, other ideas flowed. The tired playground needed a revamp. More landscaping was needed to define the area. Local builder Brent Touhey sponsored and created a pétanque court and picnic tables and seating were also sponsored by local residents.

A natural stream that had been concreted into a deep drain was opened up again and redeveloped as a stream bed with natural materials.

The project team carefully planned and sought funding and expertise to help them complete each step. As part of the playground redevelopment a scooter park was proposed. When design was approved funding was sought and the scooter path opened.
